2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us, information generated when you use the site, and limited information from service providers that help us operate the business.

Information you provide

  • Contact and account details. Name, job title, company, email, phone, mailing address, and similar business contact information when you email, call, fax, or write us.
  • Specification and survey requests. Contractor and site-owner details, site address and reference numbers, sump identifiers, purchase-order numbers, measurements, and photos or files you upload or send with an EasyFit® specification request, sump survey, or parts takeoff. Send-in surveys may also arrive by email or fax.
  • Training and certification. Name, business, job title, email, mobile phone, city, state, country, and requested training date when you register for Icon Certified Installer training. We keep certification status, exam result, and certification dates because certification is a condition of the product warranty.
  • Orders. Billing and shipping details, products ordered, and order history when you buy through the shop. Payment card numbers are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Support and warranty records. Correspondence, site conditions, installation details, and related files needed to specify parts, support a repair, or administer a warranty.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, general location derived from IP address, pages viewed, referring site, and similar usage data.
  • Cookie and similar identifiers used for site function, analytics, and advertising measurement. See Section 5.
  • Shop session data used by WooCommerce to remember your cart and complete checkout.

We do not intend to collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, health information, or precise geolocation. Site photos should show the sump and fittings, not people. Please do not send information you do not want us to have.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide parts specifications, usually within one business day of a complete request.
  • Process and ship orders, issue invoices, and handle returns or warranty claims.
  • Register participants, administer Icon Certified Installer training and the two-year certification, and confirm warranty eligibility.
  • Provide technical support and improve products, instructions, and the website.
  • Send product, training, and service messages you request or that relate to an existing business relationship. You can opt out of marketing email at any time.
  • Measure site performance and the effectiveness of our communications.
  • Protect the site, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax, and accounting duties.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the business:

  • Service providers. Website hosting, form processing, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and shipping carriers, under instructions to use the information for our purposes.
  • Independent manufacturer’s representatives. If your inquiry falls in a covered territory, we may share relevant business contact and project details with that representative so they can follow up. Representatives are separate businesses.
  • Professional advisors and authorities. When required by law, regulation, subpoena, or to protect Icon, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, sale, or reorganization, customer and site records may transfer with the business, subject to this policy.

We do not share specification photos or site details for unrelated marketing.

5. Cookies, analytics, and embedded media

icontainment.com uses cookies and similar tools:

  • Strictly necessary. WooCommerce and session cookies that keep the cart, checkout, and forms working.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics, including Google Analytics 4, to understand traffic and improve the site. Google may process this data under its own terms.
  • Advertising measurement. A Meta (Facebook) pixel that helps us understand visits that follow our ads and measure campaign results.
  • Embedded media. Product videos may load from YouTube. Playing a video can allow YouTube to set its own cookies.

You can control cookies in your browser, use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance WebChoices page (optout.aboutads.info), and adjust ad settings in your Google and Meta accounts. Blocking necessary cookies may limit shop or form features. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because there is no consistent industry standard for them.

6. Email and text

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages about an order, specification, certification, or warranty may still be sent after you unsubscribe from marketing. We do not send marketing text messages unless you ask us to. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply to any text you request.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then for a limited period required for warranty administration, tax, accounting, and dispute records. Certification records are kept at least through the certification term and any related warranty period. Order and invoice records are kept as required by tax and accounting rules. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a business of our size, including HTTPS on the website and access limits on customer files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a business email channel when sending site photos or project files.

9. Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain sharing. Residents of California, Utah, and other states with consumer privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to appeal a denial. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

To make a request, email info@icontainment.com with the subject line “Privacy request,” or write to the address in Section 1. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you or from someone authorized to act for your company. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within 45 days. Authorized agents may submit a request with proof of authority.

If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email. We will review the appeal and respond in writing.

10. Children

icontainment.com is a business site directed to contractors, distributors, owners, and other professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International visitors

Icon is based in the United States. If you contact us or order from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. International manufacturer’s representatives may receive project inquiries for their territory.

12. Links to other sites

Our pages link to documents, videos, and partner sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before submitting information.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as our site, products, or legal duties change. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be posted on this page.
